To let a developer or agency work on your Shopify store, never share your password. Use collaborator or staff access instead — it is safer, auditable, and easy to revoke.
Collaborator vs staff
- Collaborator access — for Shopify Partners; does not use up a staff seat.
- Staff access — for people on your own team, with set permissions.
How to grant access
Go to Settings, then Users and permissions. For a Partner, approve their collaborator request (they send it from their Partner dashboard). For staff, add the person and choose only the permissions they need. Remove access as soon as the work is complete.
Why it matters
Sharing logins is a security risk and makes it impossible to track who changed what. Collaborator access keeps your store secure and your data protected. Experts Cabin always works via proper collaborator access — never shared passwords — so your store stays safe.
